Divine coffee, beautiful delicious food from chef Alison, great service and smiling barista. What a stunning place this is as an addition to our happening Hospo scene. Absolutely must for anyone coming to stunner dunner. Hands down, this is one of our favourite go to place when we are seeking top notch coffee and scrumptious delicacies. We had a hot chocolate and a latte with absolutely divine tasting Persian cake with scents of rose. The broccoli falafel were to die for. Beautiful texture, perfect flavours and silken smooth hummus. Love the attentive service with smile. This place is a gem.

Whether you're exploring their menu or eyeing the delicious offerings in their cabinet, this hidden gem is the perfect place for a relaxed lunch or a morning coffee. During our visit, we couldn't resist trying a couple of their dishes – a tasty cheesy arancini from the cabinet, and a delightful entrée-sized ricotta-filled crepe. Both dishes were a real treat, leaving me eager to return for more someday. It's a cozy spot with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, ideal for those seeking good food and a relaxing experience.

Stopped in for a coffee as we'd heard they welcome folks with dogs in the little covered area next to the cafe with the fire place. Well setvice was awesome. Couldn't be friendlier team members who made our coffee. Cheese roll was delicious. One of the best I've had and great coffee too. Our 2 little pooches enjoyed some bacon too. Other food looked brilliant so we'll be back when in town. No doubt.

Ebb cafe is a truly wonderful yet unconventional cafe. It tries to differentiate itself from other cafes by providing a menu with dishes consisting of a taste pallet that is truly out of the ordinary. It experiments with a variety of ingredients and combinations that sure will pull you out of your comfort zone. This cafe is a treat for the all the foodies who love to experiment and try something different while catering to everyone at the same time by providing dishes we all know and love. The exceptional service and friendly staff in combination with a warm, inviting and modern atmosphere truly makes this cafe stand out

This would have to be the best place I have had coffee in NZ. Don't get me wrong, there is great coffee in NZ. However, Ebb cafe is that next level. The coffee is rich and chocolatey, with a hint of bitterness that delicately offsets the richness. Staff are friendly and happy. The food is great and freshly made. I had a bacon butty (pide bread with bacon and egg) soft moshy roll , flavoursome bacon, and a runny fried egg. You know you are having a great bacon butty if the yoke runs over your fingers and on to your top.

Ebb-cafe provided well on all fronts however there were a few cons. The coffees were great but a tad cold. The cheese rolls and wagyu beef toastie from the cabinet were a stand out and a decent price. The blitz was also pretty good. The other dishes including the bacon Buttie and salmon egg Benedict were mediocre and not worth it. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere feels very inviting. Would return for a cheeky cheese roll and a coffee!

We were fortunate to stay at EBB, unique in its own architectural style and location. More on the hotel another time. Staying at Ebb, was a deliberate decision based on the hotel reviews and mention of the breakfast. Ebb Kitchen was a nice space, a glass box mirroring reception on the other side, the menu was satisfying. But what really makes a place is its people and Cam was no exception. The rest of the team attentive enough but Cam took not only our order from day one and refined what we liked over the next three days. If you ‘re a guest, it’s a given, but if you’re a tourist sticking to the Main Street (George Street) you’ll be welcomed and served a dish to remember. Get your steps up and walk one street over (it’s flat) and meet Jack’s Team (owner) for Breakfast/Brunch or Lunch. Barista’s here knock off at 2pm.
